Hints are available through Waldo's pet dog Woof who is always willing to help out with puzzle-solving. As players traverse the game's many levels they will cross path with a variety of characters, most friends but also Waldo's nemesis and polar opposite Odlaw, who is intent on misleading Waldo at the most inopportune times. Characters The world of Where’s Waldo?: The Fantastic Journey is packed full of images and oddities, but there are faces that players will soon get to know. Reoccurring characters in the game include: - Waldo - The world famous globe-trotter in stripes is back on the road and inviting you along for the ride! Join Waldo as he embarks on a quest to find twelve ancient scrolls hidden throughout twelve fantastic worlds.
- Wizard Whitebeard - As Waldo's magical mentor, there is much to be learned from Wizard Whitebeard, so look to him for guidance on your journey. One piece of advice, though: don’t mind the wizard’s funny side –he’s known for his quirky sense of humor.
- Wenda - A fellow travel addict, Wenda is never far behind Waldo on his adventures. In addition to her uncanny fashion sense, Wenda has a keen eye for photography and is always carrying – and losing her camera.
- Woof - Waldo’s four-legged friend, Woof, is there to help you during the search (but only if you have a bone). He’s a very clever dog with a penchant for puzzles, so don’t be surprised if he wants to play a game or two with you along the way.
- Odlaw - Watch out for this fellow. His dastardly plans to trick Waldo include unleashing a mess of Swamp Creatures that wreak havoc and overrun each location. Be sure to keep an eye out for Odlaw’s signature black and yellow stripes, because you’re the only one who can stop him.

Not worth the money July 21, 2010 Heather Martin (North Carolina, USA) The game is too easy to solve. I solved it in 2 hours. And i mean all of it every extra and everything. There is not alot of content. It is overkill and repetitious on going back to the same places over and over again. Just don't wast your money the books are better.
too short for the money July 10, 2010 loveNINTENDOtooMUCH It is a great game in theory but I just spent $[...] for one short evening of play. BOO. It was a fun blast-from-the-past with the waldo pictures but it was not hard at all and I went through the whole game in a few short hours. BORING! Don't spend the money.
Having fun finding Waldo February 1, 2010 Dee (Naples, FL USA) If you and your kids enjoy the books you will enjoy the game. We get the books from the library and they are not always in. Now we can find Waldo at our house anytime and there are more choices.
Wheres Waldo? Why there he is, right in your face. January 6, 2010 Micheal Hunt (Hellbourne) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game does not work well at all on a D.S. Not the way they have designed this game anyway. Remember when you'd open a Waldo book and there was two big pages of a land drawn out with all this goofy stuff happening... well, how do you put such a big picture layout on such a small screen? By doing it section by section :(
You have to find Waldo, Wizard and Wendy, then find a bunch of other things on the map. The only thing is, there is no challenge to any of it, as once you have found what you are looking for in your tiny little area, the screen/camera automatically pans to the next area to find the next item in i minute space. There is no challenge when you find something the camera just goes to the next one and there it is, right in your face. If you where to scroll the WHOLE map then it might be harder, but to zoom straight to the next part, it makes it too easy. I suppose for those under 8 years old, it might seem fun, to anyone older, it's a bore.
There is a couple of other things to do too, Wenda icons allow you to figure out on the map where she took a photo from by matching her photo with the area of the map... Whoof does a spot the difference, and Odlow annoys you with his dumb inclusion to maps with yellow and black bed socks.
Overall, it didn't take more then 24 hours to complete... you could probably do it in an hour if you tried hard enough, not to mention, be bothered doing it. Once the game is done, there is nothing to keep you coming back. The only decent part in the whole game is the spot the differences, but i'd recommended "Foto Frenzy" over it any day.
Save your money, if you must have this game, look into roms. It's not worth more then 2 bucks at most.

This game was fun. But I went through it too fast. It should be expanded for more difficult play. Would recommend it though.
