This game is pretty good overall. The controls of the game are great and the graphics are pretty good. There are a lot of different things you can do, from the bruise control to the dekes and manual dekes. That aspect of the game owns all others. But the problem with the game is not the way the game is played, but the way it is displayed. The thing that dissapointed me was the way the arenas were done. Nhl 2004 doesn't have much detail in the different rinks. All the jumbotrons look the same. As a matter of fact, all arenas are the same except for the team logo at center ice. EVen NHL 2K3 puts some distinction between the rinks. Also NHL 2004 doesn't have much of an introduction for the players. Again NHL 2K3 beats them with that. I was a little dissapointed in the fighting system. The way its done is great but it is random wheather you win or not. Even if you set it to the easiest level, it sometimes is still hard. I created a bunch of players with 99 everything including toughness and I can still lose sometimes. NHL 2004 could have put a lot more effort into the way the crowd reacts to goals. If you are the away team and you score, the crowd stands up and claps. If the away team wins, and the game is over they still stand up and clap. NHL 2K3 makes the crowd react kind of mad when the other team scores. They are just little things, but if they would have put more effort into that, this would have been the best hockey game I've ever played. If you like hockey, deffinitely buy this game.

NHL 2004 is close to being an all round sports game. With hard hitting action that puts you right in they're with the game the deking and the hard crashes against the boards really gives bone-crushing feel. The franchise mode is a really good feature, which lets you take over a team for 20 years and decide what happened with the team and financially. Even if you get bored with an already made team why? Not create your own and take to the Stanley Cup and become one of the best coaches in the league.

THE GAME IS FUN FLUED AND SEEMS EFFORTLESSLY PUT TOGETHER, a little micromanaging problems, BUT BESIDES THAT AWESOME
