5 out of 5 stars Where did THIS Mike Tyson Go?   September 18, 2007
Gamer X (Dallas, TX)
Punch out was a very entertaining game but adding Mike Tyson to the mix gave this game a mass appeal that is lasting longer than Mike is apparently. Check the price on this game and you'll see that while all the other games sell for fairly cheap, this game is still close to its original price due to the fun.

5 out of 5 stars Best boxing game ever??? BEST GAME EVER!!!   July 7, 2006

This is the funnest game I've ever played period!!!
Nothing more needs to be said.
I didn't have too many games growing up but my neighbor had them ALL, no exageration.
Out of all the games, this one was definitely the funnest.

There's only a handful of games that are even close (at least in my opinion): Castlevania Symphony of the Night (PS1), Zelda I, Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES), Tecmo Bowl, NBA Live 95 (Sega), Madden 96 (Sega), Resident Evil I & IV... Super Mario 1 & 3... Mega Man II... that's about it.
Even with these, I'm still putting Mike Tyson's Punch Out in front by a long shot.

I miss this game... too bad they can't remake this one.
Has Nintendo ever re-released the NES??? I'd rebuy it for this game!!!

5 out of 5 stars Best Boxing Game Yet!!!   May 15, 2006
Robert C. Lyons (Portsmouth, OH)
Everyone else has got it right. This is the best boxing video game out there. Learn the tendencies of the other fighters and develop the skills to beat them. Then put all your skills to the test as you square off against "The Baddest Man on the Planet" (in 1988).

I just always thought the fat guy should be the one running behind the bike

I love this game!!! I remember playing this game all the time with my dad when I was little. I still do sometimes. We still haven't beaten Mike. Gotten to him dozens of times but never beaten him. Thats how fun and addictive this game is. All the character models are great for the game being so old. Every character is different and has a different stragety to beat them. Even when you play characters a 2nd time they are different than the first time you played them. This is a great game that is unfortunately is often overlooked
