5 out of 5 stars Great game - BUT BEWARE of Amazon shipping bait and switch   January 2, 2009
S. Koepper (Long Island, NY)
Great game, good price for the bundled package. My daughter likes it and my wife liked the workout mode. This along with Rock Band made me pull my old PS2 out of storage.

Ordered by Amazon Prime on Monday 12/29 - opted for 2nd day delivery and it was delivered via FedEd on Wednesday 12/31.

Now onto the problem... I ordered Rock Band on December 27th through Amazon prime. I paid extra for the "OVERNIGHT" shipping option so that it would arrive BEFORE New Years Eve (as it was planned for a party). It was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday December 30th which would have left PLENTY of time. HOWEVER - AMAZON's useless shipping department did not send this package overnight-as I paid for. They instead decided that UPS ground would suffice since it was shipping within the same zone. HERE is the problem with this fraudulent practice - UPS, like any other shipper prioritizes it packages based on actual shipping service purchased. Since this item was a GROUND package, it sat on the truck ALL day and ultimately was returned to the distribution center AFTER 7:00 PM. Also, since it was GROUND, it did not go out for delivery on the following day (12/31) since this was a limited service day for air packages only. AGAIN, if Amazon had shipped it properly, it would have been delivered on 12/31. REMEMBER I PAID for OVERNIGHT service.

I was able to prove this shipping problem was caused by Amazons practice of not properly handling a shipment, based on another order. The second order was also place with Amazon prime on MONDAY 12/29. Since it was not urgent, I opted for the FREE 2nd Day delivery. That package actually shipped via 2nd day air (as expected) and due to class of serivce (air) it was delivered on 12/31 (the holiday). It is now FRIDAY 1/2 and I still have not yet rec'd my Rock Band order. IT WILL BE REFUSED WHENEVER IT IS FINALLY DELIVERED as I bought the exact same product from Walmart on Wednesday morning for the SAME PRICE.

I complained to Amazon about this and the best they would do is refund my shipping and offer me $5.00 off my NEXT purchase. Why would I purchase from them again after this terrible experience.

In summary - BEWARE OF THE SHIPPING Bait and Switch! If you can get the same item local for the same deal - TAKE IT. Don't trust Amazon or expect good customer service!

1 out of 5 stars What they don't tell you.....   December 10, 2008

I bought this from Amazon, and what no one tells you is that this game requires a whopping 108MB memory!! Of course, no one, including Amazon! sells a memory card that big for PS2. I can't find one locally bigger than 16MB, which is a long way from 108. It was disappointing to receive and not be able to use it.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   January 14, 2008

My daughters are big funs of Disney Movies such as Hanna Montana, High School Musical, Cheetah Girls, etc. I thought they would enjoy this a lot by dancing with the musics that they sing everyday. Unfortunately, it is either too easy or too hard. There is no choice of "light(intermediate)" category as other DDRs where they are at right now. It goes as beginner, basic, and difficult. The first two are too easy and good for the beginners and the last one seems made for "professional" DDR dancers. The background is also dizzy and distractative. So I am returning it and exchange for DDR SuperNova.

5 out of 5 stars FUN for Mom's too!!!   January 10, 2008

I am a 30 something Mom with a little girl who LOVES High School Musical & Hannah Montana. Since we only had 1 dance mat I thought it would be nice to get another so we can team up and have fun together. I've been using the Disney Mix DDR from early 2000 to workout everyday. It's about time that they came out with another one geared more for kids!! I bought the game this morning and tried it out before my daughter got home. It's a BLAST!! The best part is that you can pick the song, then pick the difficulty. In the past once you pick the song you get what you get (easy, hard, etc...) Plus, I know the songs from hearing them over and over again. You can pick your character, too! I set up a workout mode which tracks calories burned, how far I've run as if I was jogging. My first suggestion it to go to "OPTIONS", the choose "Sound Options" and turn OFF the voice that "encourages" you. He's annoying. He said "OK" about 7 times in a row and it was distracting. The dance pad itself has a nonskid backing and it slips around the carpet less than my other one. If you're truly having fun then all pads are going to move slightly I believe. I recommend this for boys, too. They can pick the male characters and pick cool songs. It's a great workout for adults with fun tunes. It'll be a great thing to do together. One thing I want to try out is to see if we play in 2-player mode if we can pick different difficulties. Once I know I will edit or re-post for an update.
