A DECENT ENOUGH GAME December 23, 2008 R. Arrington (Somewhere) When I first heard about the idea of a Mortal Kombat adventure title, the thought of fatalities on the fly and a good story to back it up was exciting. However, after a few minutes of gameplay, the many flaws that plague this title are clearly visible.First,Combat is extremely repetitive, with few moves and enemy types throughout the game. The upgrade system is simple, but in a bad way. There are only a handful of upgrades and very few make a difference in combat.Sound and Graphical quality are not the best and while graphics don't make a game, they might've helped here. However, the ability to play through the campaign with a friend and the inclusion of a versus mode and the original Mortal Kombat 2 as a bonus feature is what brings this title up to rental status.Though Shaolin Monks brought some great ideas to the table,it's plagued by bland/repetative combat, poor graphics/sound and very short length.Though it's a decent enough way to spend some spare time with a friend,it may not deliver for those who prefer to game alone. But,to each his own and may those who enjoy it continue to do so.
Review May 9, 2008 Paul S. Randazzo (Platte City MO) Bought this for me and my son took it over as his own. Both of this love this game.
Fatalities, blood, gore all in Mortal Kombat Goodness!!! January 27, 2008 ElKirbster (Phoenix, AZ USA) This game is easy to pick up and start playing. I was hesitant that this was not in traditional Mortal Kombat fighting game. I was pleasantly surprised as I started playing this game. I love the story, the cut scenes, the secrest/hiddden stuff, of course my favorite the Fatalities with lots of blood and gore!!! The only thing I found annoying was the camera angles for both single and co-op play. Oh another thing I didn't like is sharing life meter with player 2 when on co-op play. Overall this game is a whole lot of fun.
Loved this game January 6, 2008 Stephanie (Kentucky) Having a co-op mortal kombat was great. I wish that there were more to play.
the best sequel to part one of the movie. January 3, 2007 J. Persaud (NY, USA.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
this game gives a better understanding and ending than the mortal kombat 2 movie. graphics are cool. you can defend your relm with 4 characters, lots of moves, fatalities, combos, and there is 2 player mode. the best mortalkombat game since mortal kombat 3 trilogy.
