Fabulous!!! January 5, 2009 N. Dabney (Kansas City, MO USA) First off, I love Jeopardy. I've been watching it since I was 13 and now I'm 24. The game is just like the show. You can put it in easy mode with loose spelling accuracy and win every time. I love this game. The championship is very hard even if it is in easy mode. I have only managed to win the championship once. One small problem is that some of the catagories repeat themselves. That makes the game too easy if you have a photographic memory like do. It is still an exellent game though. A must buy for trivia buffs. I am ready for any other versions that are available.
Great Game November 18, 2008 Jutza98 (Colorado) This is a fun game with lots of trivia. I have owned this game for years and we still enjoy playing the game and there has been very little repeating questions.
I think the people who have rated this game low have not played enough other trivia type games on this system and others in order to have a true comparison.
There are so many questions in this game and it is great for adults. I would not rate it high for young children since the questions can be difficult.
We have seen very few glitches in this game as well.
Also, as we all know, they change history on us, so maybe some of the answers are not "correct" now, but were in the past.
If you adults enjoy a challenge, then this is a game to buy!!
My only complaint is that my husband usually beats me!!
Hours of Game Show Entertainment November 10, 2008 tvtv3 (Sorento, IL United States) I'm a huge trivia buff and a pretty big fan of JEOPARDY! I've auditioned for the actual game show several times, but have never been selected. For now I'll have to settle with the next best thing, the JEOPARDY! video game on PS2. The game offers several options that allow you to either play by yourself, play with two computer opponents, or play with up to two other people. The game saves your stats so you can get a rough idea of how you might do on the actual show. You can change the difficulty setting to make the game more challenging or make if you find something too can alter things to make it more competitive for you to play. After you've created a profile and won a specific amount of money, you can play the Tournament of Champions contest. Like the real life game, this contest has questions more difficult than the regular game.
As far as game design goes, the game looks and has the feel of JEOPARDY! The colors and sounds are the same as they are on the show.
However, there are some flaws. For starters, there are slow load screens between the various rounds of the game and Alex Trebek tends to say the same phrases over and over. You can skip most of the Alex comments by pushing the start button, but there's nothing you can do about the slow load times. The game can also be rather touchy with selections. Sometimes you'll type in a word and only be a letter off and get the answer wrong and other times you can almost completely misspell a word and get the answer correct. The biggest flaw of the game is that there are only about 5,300 different answers. If you play the game often enough you will see repeats of the same categories and sometimes even the same answers. In my experience, it doesn't happen as often in the Tournament of Champions, but maybe that's because I haven't played that feature as often, yet.
If you're a fan of the show and own a PS2, this game is a good buy and contains hours of trivia, game show entertainment.
Jeopardy at Home??? September 8, 2008 Megan E. Murray (New Richmond, WI) I love this game. I play often with and without others. Great questions and fun graphics.
Fun, if you know the answers. March 9, 2008 J. Hartnett (NY, USA) I like this game. the graphics aren't that great but it doesn't limit the fun factor. There is a cool function when you start to input the answers, the computer automaticlly finishes the answer for you. My girlfriend doesn't like it so much because she doesnt know a lot of the answers. I like it, I guess because I know a lot of the answers. Don't tell her I said that!!
