Probably the best soccer game out there for the psp November 24, 2005 ''Yous'' (Detroit, MI USA) This game is probably the best soccer game out for the psp for many reasons. First the graphics are good, the gamplay is good but might need a little touching up, the songs are FINALLY good after 3 years of horrible song selections, and the franshice mode is really good. They put you in a season with your team that you pick while they already played 15 games or so. So you can bring your favorite team back to life, or continue there hot streak. This game should be in your psp collection along with Burnout Legands, Atv Offroad Fury 3 and NBA Live 06.
For Kids or Not? November 10, 2005 Aaron L. Shaw (Provo, UT USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This will be a quick review. Look the game fairly represents soccer here. This game is probably a 7 on a scale of one to ten. It does this by making the game feel kind of like it is. The problem is in America we do not have an appreciation for the subtle differences between an average play and a truly great player. We do not know this because we are not fanatical about soccer. If we were, we could tell the difference. The same problem exists in this game. I am a self professed non-lover of the game. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. Because of this I could not tell you if this game did a great job of representing the game. It is extremely accurate at representing it the way I know the game. It represents it as a moderately exciting sport played on to big of a field for fast action.
Bottom Line: Is it fun? A little more fun than watching a slow paced soccer game. At least you get to control the slow pace of the game here. Will I keep this game? Ebay to the rescue. Will soccer fans like this game? They will adore this game. Is it for kids? If you want them to be bored.
Lots of replay value...unfortunate gameplay lags. October 18, 2005 G. Mays (New Mexico, United States) While this game is lots of fun, you'll find some almost-unacceptable gameplay lags.
When you take a shot on goal, if you score, no lag. If it ends up deing deflected or shot out of bounds (which happens more than scoring, of course), there's about a 2-second lag while the game processes the out-of-bounds. Also, when pausing, there's about a 4 second lag before the pause screen appears. Sometimes *gasp* you have to press it twice to get the pause. Like I said, the game is enjoyable and I play it a lot, but these little lags make you feel like you're playing something that was rushed out of the door to make the PSP launch.
I've heard the newer Fifa 06 for PSP fixes these little annoyances, but that's not firsthand knowledge.
Just an average game October 1, 2005 Greatest Person Ever This game is just an average game. The graphics are decent, gameplay is good, and load times are bad. The reaction time is poor, and there are some pauses that slow down the game (like when the ball goes out of bounds). There really aren't any special features, EA should have added mini games, franchise, and online play.
Buy it if you like Fifa, save your money if you don't.
Great First Effort August 9, 2005 Matthieu P. Raillard (Portland, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I know that this isn't a perfect game, not by a longshot. The truth is, this is the best soccer game on a handheld I've ever played, and a ton of fun to boot. The amazing thing is how they've managed to pack a full console game's worth of options and features into a small, handheld game. Create-a-player? Check. Season mode? Check. The list goes on. There are some gripes, namely the stuttery animation when the ball goes out of bounds, or the sketchy controls (no secondary analog stick means... it's really hard to control the freestyle moves), but the truth is, it's still a blast to play.
