Flawed design July 10, 2008 summer x3 (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a great idea and it does protect your DS well but it is a pain in the [...] to take off. It is also bulky, but I guess that is needed to protect the console.
DAMAGED MY NEW DS June 18, 2008 S. Rios (NYC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just bought the Metallic Rose DS Lite and I needed a case to protect it. I choose to get the NERF Armor, I love the funky look of it and I love the Nerf products. Unfortunately I regret buying it... First off it smells! It left a very bad odor in my backpack and the odor just lingers. Second when I removed my Ds from it, it DAMAGED MY NEW DS!!!! It scraped the paint off the back and it left dents where it latched on. I would not recommend!!!
Great for kids!! March 17, 2008 Vicki L. Bennett (Virginia Beach, VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this product for my daughter after having to replace her DS once when she dropped it. The nerf cover fits wonderfully in her little hands and gives her extra protection. I would recommend it to those giving a DS to young children.
Must Have March 2, 2008 Maoming Mom "Ashley" (Northwest Arkansas, United States) This cover is a must-have for your child's DS! It makes the unit easier to hold for little hands and absorbs the shock for occasional hard-knocks. Very sturdy, good pricing. Fits like a glove.
Good Protector for Broken DS February 20, 2008 Merari Medina (Mechanicsville, MD) My son broke the plastic on top of the right gear, the one closest to the power light. As a result, I had to tape the DS with super strong packing tape, which made it impossible to close. When I found this case I thought it was not going to fit my needs, like taking off the tape so I can close it and protect it from having both upper and lower parts to separate, but so far it has. I love the fact that we can close the DS again and carry it wherever we go.
The only cons I see are that the conection between the upper and lower part on the case are a snap kind, like the snap on a CD case. Instead Nintendo/Nerf should have made this case with no possibility of becoming appart in case of a fall or mistreatment and one that you can adjust the position of the upper screen. I guess that since the upper part is quite heavy now it was not possible.
Otherwise, it is a great invention. I am wondering if the reason for it was just to protect from falls or because other kids, like my son, broke the DS. Anyway, I RECOMMEND IT!
