Product Description Avatar: The Last Airbender is the hot new game based on Nickelodeon's new hit show. Set in a fantastic, Asian-influenced world of martial arts and elemental magic, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the adventures of Aang, the successor to a long line of Avatars. Their quest is to save the world from the merciless Fire Nation, while avoiding capture from pursuers including Prince Zuko. Play as Aang, Katara, Sokka and Haru as they grow into an unstoppable team utilizing the kung fu inspired bending arts through the Avatar universe. Promising game that doesn't deliver October 21, 2008 TRFB I am a big fan of this series of cartoon. This game has mixed reviews from me. On the one hand I LOVE the game. The characters, the quests, the power-ups.
But, here's what I had a big problem with:
1) The game would freeze and if you try to load the game you saved, it would lock up and not allow you to load. 2) You have to read the conversations with the villagers and others. And sometimes it's downright confusing. 3) And the BIGGEST frustrating thing is that when you miss a quest in the correct order, you can't go back to it, even if you don't leave the chapter!!! I was on chapter 3 and I forgot one quest, but when i finished a quest, it must've closed the area where you fulfill another and so I didn't end up getting 100% on the level. Very frustrating.
I gave up on the game. Maybe, I'll come back to it, but it's just way too buggy. I wonder why this game was released without the quality control testing that should be on all games.
Oh, well. From reading the other reviews of the other Avatar games, it looks like I'll be staying away from the others.
I did give it 3 stars only because you really get hooked into the game. It's just those other points that keep you from really exploring the game completely.
Good, but not Great November 24, 2007 Lewdwig (Southwest MI USA) This game maintains the basic principle of the television series - the bending. Each character has many different types of bending abilities, and it's easy enough to understand. Every character gets a chance to play (if you want to get certain chests.)
Pro's: Intricate, well thought out plot. Numerous side quests. Easy to learn movements and techniques.
Con's: Bad character graphics. Annoying background music. Hard to figure out mini quests.
In summation, this game has a relatively high replay value, and is worth buying. Don't count on the characters looking exactly like they do on TV, though, and you also get a chance to play as Momo, but not Appa.
Great Game For Avatar Lovers October 14, 2007 Lisa Colvin (Alabama) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 7 year old son save his money up for awhile just for this game. He really enjoys it. The first level was kinda boring to him,but that's just where they were teaching you the game. I will say this,it's not a game I would buy for kids who can't read, unless you want to be in the same room the whole time they are playing it. My son is a good reader for his age. Only a few times did I have to go in and read something for him. If this would have been last year,I would have hated the game! LOL But really, there's ALLOT of reading to this game.
Kids love it October 5, 2007 Just me (California) My two boys really like the TV series so when we got the game they were very excited. They play it every chance they get.
Mom of a disappointed 6 year old who is an avid Avatar fan August 29, 2007 MomLovesT & T (New York, NY) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this game over the weekend for my son's 6 birthday. He played the game for all of 15 minutes and said it was boring and asked me to take it back to the store. I then began to fiddle around with the game and came to the same conclusion after about 5 minutes. It's slow, the dialogue is useless......blah!blah! not worth talking about anymore.'
